Director, Commercial Manager

As NVL’s Commercial Manager, Luke is now a director and part of the management team after starting in a maintenance position.

When did you start working at NVL?
I started as a Maintenance Foreman 8 years ago.

What do you love about landscaping?
I enjoy the variety of work and site locations, and the mix of commercial and residential projects. Also, I am fascinated by the impact you can make on a space in a short time.

How did your career at NVL develop?
I started when NVL was a 3 - 4 man band looking after the maintenance side of the business as well as completing construction work. Then I progressed through the ranks once the company started increasing in size. I eventually got into the management side of the company initially as Operations Manager up into my current role as Commercial manager.

What do people not realise about landscaping?
People don’t realise just what landscaping involves. We’re building these amazing spaces from nothing and involving so many different skills in such a short space of time (comparative to a house build). With landscaping everything is visual so progress is obvious. the landscaping industry offers apprenticeship programs so you can learn while gaining a trade qualification.

Proudest achievement working for NVL?
Definitely the continuous positive feedback from clients about our staffs’ skills and work attitude.

Best thing about NVL is the culture. Great people throughout.
